Dr Zaffran Jami
Counselling Psychologist
Dr Zaffran Jami is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC and has over 9 years of experience in working within a variety of adult and young person mental health settings. She has studied psychology and mental health extensively at Warwick University, Kings College London and City, University of London.
Zaffran works with individuals and groups and is highly skilled in working with adults and young people experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, phobias, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and interpersonal difficulties. Zaffran has a particular interest around trauma, understanding that trauma can have a profound impact on a person's emotional and psychological well-being, and is passionate about helping people through this.
Zaffran provides evidence-based talking therapies and draws from her broad doctoral training to provide a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of each client. She believes that everyone is unique and, therefore, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Trauma focused approaches, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as integrative ways of working.
Zaffran believes in the importance of providing a confidential space where you can take a moment to gather your thoughts, take a deep breath, and concentrate on what is truly important to you.
Zaffran is also experienced in conducting diagnostic assessments for Neurodevelopmental conditions (such as Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD). She is trained in using Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule (ADOS-2) and ADIR (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised) assessment tools for diagnostic assessments with children, young people and adults.
